What do you think of first when someone mentions a Thunderbird™ Bass? The distinctive shape that legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich created? The sustain-enhancing nine-ply neck-through-body construction? The low-end punch from the two powerful bass humbucker™ pickups? Classic eye-catching, auto-inspired custom colors? In honor of the 60th anniversary of the groundbreaking Gibson Thunderbird, Epiphone is proud to introduce the Thunderbird ’64. Inspired by the vintage Gibson™ T-Bird basses of that era, the new Thunderbird ’64 retains all of the classic elements that made the originals iconic, from the nine-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through-body construction right down to the instantly-recognizable hot-stamped Thunderbird logo on the three-ply pickguard.

Once you take it out of the included premium gig bag and plug it in, you’ll immediately notice the Thunderbird ’64’s deep, rich tone, which is brought to life with a pair of powerful ProBucker™ 760 Bass humbucker pickups paired with CTS® potentiometers. Modern features like a new Graph Tech® nut and Clover-button tuners with a 19:1 gear ratio keep the tuning more solid than ever, but the focus here is all about vintage vibes. Available in Ember Red, Silver Mist, and Inverness Green, the Thunderbird ’64 delivers the specifications, look, playing experience, and tone of a priceless vintage Thunderbird, all at an accessible price.

Specs: 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck-through body; mahogany '60s rounded neck; 34" scale length; Indian laurel 12" radius fingerboard; 1.496" nut width; 20 medium jumbo frets; Epiphone vintage bass tune-o-matic bridge with vintage bass claw tailpiece; open-gear bass tuners with historic clover buttons and 19:1 gear ratio. Ember Red finish. Premium gig bag.
